Data You Give Us Directly
Search Queries
When a name or case number is entered into a search feature, the entry is sent to the third-party provider operating that feature. The provider processes the request and returns any result under its own practices. Madison County Court Docket does not maintain a docket database or log search terms on its own systems.
Messages and Contact Submissions
If a visitor sends an email to an address associated with this resource, the message and contact details may be retained to respond or meet a legal obligation. They are not shared outside the organization except when disclosure is required by law.
Data We Gather Automatically
Like most websites, the service hosting this resource may receive limited technical information when a page is requested.
- The IP address associated with the request
- Browser type, version, and device operating system
- Pages requested and the time spent on them
- The referring site, when one is supplied
- Dates and times associated with page requests
Cookies and Analytics
Cookies are small files placed on a device that can help measure site use, such as pages visited and general traffic patterns. Analytics services may aggregate that information. A browser can usually block or clear cookies, although some features may then work differently.
What We Do With This Data
Technical and voluntarily supplied information may be used to operate, secure, and improve the resource and its sponsored search features.
- Maintain site availability and diagnose technical problems
- Route a submitted search to the provider that operates it
- Measure general use and improve page performance
- Respond to a direct communication when appropriate
- Support advertising that may be based on general interests
No Court-Record Data on File
Madison County Court Docket does not host, compile, sell, or maintain court dockets, case files, or personal case-record databases. It provides general routing information about records held by the Circuit Clerk, Chancery Clerk, other court clerks, and authorized public systems. Court-file access is governed by the Mississippi Public Records Act, Mississippi Code Sections 25-61-1 et seq., applicable court restrictions, and the clerk with custody of the original record. The Act does not make a restricted court file public.
For eligible electronic filings, the MEC Administrative Procedures and Mississippi Rule of Civil Procedure 5.1 require protection of specified personal identifiers. This resource does not turn visitor information into consumer reports or records about third parties.
Third-Party Search Partners
Search features, if displayed, are operated by outside providers. Information entered into a partner tool is subject to that provider's retention, sharing, and security practices, which Madison County Court Docket does not control. Review the provider's own privacy notice before submitting information.
Links to Other Websites
Links may lead to official clerk pages, court systems, PAMEC, Mississippi Electronic Courts, or third-party services. Once a visitor leaves this resource, the destination's policy controls the visit and any information submitted there.
Advertising partners may use their own systems to measure activity across sites or present interest-based advertising. That activity is governed by the partner, not by this policy.
Who Might See Your Data
Personal data is not sold. Limited information may be processed or disclosed in the following circumstances.
- Search providers receiving a query entered into their tool
- Analytics vendors used to measure traffic or performance
- Advertising networks that serve advertisements on the site
- Government or law-enforcement authorities responding to a valid legal demand
How We Protect Your Data
Reasonable administrative and technical safeguards are used for information within the resource's control. No internet transmission or storage method is completely secure, so absolute security cannot be promised.
Users Under 18
This resource is intended for adults and does not knowingly collect personal information from people under 18. If a minor's personal information is believed to have been submitted, deletion may be requested through an available site contact.
Your Data Rights
Visitors may ask for a copy of information retained about them, correction of inaccurate information, deletion where appropriate, or an explanation of certain processing. These policy rights do not create a right to inspect a court file. In Madison County, court-record access remains subject to the responsible clerk, Mississippi Code Sections 25-61-5 and 25-61-11, and court rules that protect restricted material.
- Request access to personal information retained by this resource
- Request correction of inaccurate personal information
- Request deletion of personal information when retention is not required
- Ask about the categories of third parties that may process information
Updates to This Policy
This policy may be revised as site practices, law, or service providers change. A revised policy takes effect when posted with an updated effective date.
